We often say that we are a "rural and northern" health region.

 

As such, we are similar to many other rural health regions across Canada.

 

But what do we mean when we use this "rural" terminology and how does this rural and northern context affect our health and wellbeing?


This page attempts to tease out the many definitions and nuances of being a rural and northern health region and the effects this has, both on our health, and the ways we strive to deliver services to our populations.
