Community Vitality

How Healthy Are We?

What do we mean when we describe our communities as healthy, rural, vibrant, robust, resilient and sustainable - and how do we measure it?

Many communities  are pursuing these questions and bringing people and agencies together to develop measures of community vitality.

These measures of vitality might include local data such as: air-quality, crime, education, employment, incomes, housing, public transit, languages, culture and whatever else is identified by the community as important.

The purpose of this page is to feature the work of communities across Canada and to help communities in northern BC find the data they need.
